Stations of the Cross
By Eric Bourse
After suffering an acute heart attack which saw him needing 8 electric shocks and a cardiac massage Eric Bourse was miraculously brought back to life by the doctors at Metz. This life changing event, also accompanied by a near death experience, not surprisingly led to a reassessment of his beliefs. Not a “believer” Eric was inspired to embark on his next voyage of discovery and his creation of a Stations of the Cross, because as in his words, “you never know…”
The 15 canvases he produced ( 14 stations and a 15th “Renaissance” canvas) he subsequently donated them all to Saint Amand les Eaux, his birthplace, who in turn presented them at his inauguration at the Notre Dame des Anges chapel which had just been renovated.
